Enveng Group were engaged by the Joint Venture Saipem and Clough (SCJV) to assist with delivering environmental management during the design, planning and construction of Project CERES, a state-of-the-art urea plant owned by Perdaman in Karratha, Western Australia.
As part of our role, Enveng Group was responsible for securing necessary environmental approvals, conducting comprehensive environmental assessments, managing onsite environmental risks such as flora and fauna management, protection of heritage values, Acid Sulfate Soils management and treatment, groundwater and surface water monitoring and management and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Enveng were also engaged in extensive stakeholder consultations, including interactions with local communities and indigenous groups (MAC), to address environmental concerns and promote sustainable practices.
Enveng Group’s expertise in environmental management of high risk issues were crucial in supporting the successful delivery of this landmark project, which aims to contribute significantly to global food security and regional economic growth.
Additionally Enveng developed a comprehensive set of environmental management plans for the Client to address their obligations under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and Environmental Biodiversity and Conservation Act 1999, and included a corresponding set of construction environmental management plans to ensure the EPC Contractor, SCJV, could manage environmental risk appropriately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
